I made this quite some time ago for my sweet little niece. This pattern is from Vickie Howell (her Sheepish yarn is no longer carried in-store) using her Sheepish yarn. I ended up using a very soft acrylic since a baby blanket is definitely something you want to be able to easily and quickly wash, and Sheepish yarn is hand wash, hang dry only. Anyhow, this pattern has lots of room to customize. The sky’s the limit with colors and yarn type. You can even adjust the size to make it larger (the original pattern is rather small and is more suited to a newborn). I crocheted and added some matching little flower appliques to two corners of the blanket.
