Crochet Throw Blanket for Bed using Bernat Blanket Yarn
I was looking to make a blanket that was wide enough for a king size bed but only a third of the length so it wouldn’t need to be folded up at the foot of the bed. I also turn it 90 degrees at night and use it for a blanket on my side since my husband is always too hot.
I wanted a blanket with squares and yet, I like to avoid the insane amount of joins necessary for a granny square blanket. So I used the concept of Bernat Lush Life Blanket combined with the camel stitch to come up with my blanket! This design is crocheted with just one color, has no joins other than those used to change skeins, and has a fun square type pattern. I used about 6 skeins Bernat Blanket in white with a size N hook. The pattern can easily be changed to adjust for different bed sizes and desired lengths.
