It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! We built a custom home this year on some land and recently moved in, so it’s been nuts. But well worth it! I’m going to try and catch up some of those … Continue reading
I wanted to make some treasure boxes for my boys for Valentine’s Day and decided to make some using felt. I found some stiff dark brown felt at Joann’s (just polyester felt) that would work perfectly to hold the shape of the treasure box. I think what I’ll do is hide them and make my boys go on a treasure hunt to find them!
I have developed a new found love for felt! There are so many fun things to do with it. For this little project I used a roughly 4in x 10in rectangle and folded it up to make a pouch with a flap. Then I used white Mouline floss/thread to blanket stitch around the edges. Then I made the fun little flower. I hot glued the ribbon onto the front and left enough to tie into a bow on the back. Then I glued the flower on top of the ribbon. It’s the perfect little pouch for a small gift (this one contained a few Ghirardelli chocolates!) But it’d be perfect for just about anything.
*Tip: your projects will look and feel better with better quality felt (like wool or wool/rayon mixed felt).
